Meet Dr. Reistad
Dr. Reistad is an Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. He performs aesthetic and reconstructive surgery on the eyelids, orbit, lacrimal or tear drain system and face. He has training in eye surgery (ophthalmology) and further specialized training in ophthalmic plastic surgery (oculoplastics) where the detailed knowledge of the eye and microsurgery is coupled with plastic surgery training specific to the eyelids, orbit, and face.
Dr. Reistad completed his residency at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. He then undertook an additional two years of specialized training through the American Society of Ophthalmic and Facial Plastics Surgery (ASOPRS) in Southfield and Royal Oak, Michigan, with Consultants in Ophthalmic and Facial Plastic Surgery.
After graduating summa cum laude with honors in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, Dr. Reistad earned his medical degree at Washington University School of Medicine, consistently ranked among the top medical schools in the country by U.S. News and World Report.
Dr. Reistad grew up in rural Wisconsin. He is an Eagle Scout and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He is board certified, a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, and a member of American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Reistad has served as an instructor to other surgeons on endoscopic brow lift and eyelid surgery as well as Botox and dermal filler techniques at national meetings.
