Skin Resurfacing

Fractional CO2 laser skin resurfacing softens lines and wrinkles, removes surface imperfections and tightens and rejuvenates the skin. The CO2 laser can also remove dark spots (hyper-pigmentation) from the skin, giving your face a more even tone and appearance. Early results are seen within days and continue to improve during the healing process. Call us today to schedule a complimentary skin consultation today, (970) 221-2222.

Laser Skin Resurfacing with Fractionated CO2 Laser

Over time, factors such as sun damage, genetics, diet and repetitive muscle movement can contribute to the formation of lines and wrinkles of the face. The development of pigmentation anomalies, such as age spots or acne scars can cause skin to lose its smooth, youthful appearance.

Dr. Reistad uses the Lumenis Ultrapulse® CO2 laser to provide a customized cosmetic treatment, addressing specific areas of your skin. This fractionated CO2 laser improves skin texture with a lower risk profile than traditional fully ablative last skin treatments. This one-time treatment can dramatically reduce changes associated with sun exposure and aging.

How does it work?

Laser resurfacing works by removing old, dry and damaged skin cells with the laser so that new cells can regenerate. The deeper collagen layer in the skin is also tightened at the time of laser and during the healing process. As the resurfaced areas heal, a vibrant new layer of skin is produced, creating a refreshed, natural appearance. This is achieved by the new collagen fibers regenerating under the skin and restoring the skin’s structure and integrity. Collagen is the protein that gives skin and muscles elasticity and suppleness.

Why should I choose the CO2 laser skin resurfacing treatment?

Less invasive, non-surgical procedures are becoming increasingly popular among facial cosmetic patients. This is not surprising, as the chance to reverse some signs of aging with a short in-office procedure that involves little down time and a relatively easy recovery, is very appealing!

Most patients will only need a few days off work after laser skin resurfacing. There are no bandages applied after the procedure but patients will apply facial soaks several times a day for the first few days. You will also keep your skin moisturized by the routine application of a medical barrier cream to induce healing. The treated skin will appear slightly pink for the next few weeks. This is a visible sign that the newer, tighter, smoother skin is forming. After 5-7 days most patients can resume wearing makeup.
